Philosophy of Care
Our goal is to provide the highest quality care and personal level of service for persons with sports injuries and other non-surgical musculoskeletal problems.
The following services are designed to help the body heal itself rather than mask symptoms or suppress the immune system. Many of these regenerative orthopedic techniques have been used successfully for decades but are not well known in the United States. Techniques offered in conjunction with Thrive Wellness include Prolotherapy, PRP, Ozone Therapy, and other injection based therapies.
Sports Medicine, Musculoskeletal Consultation | HIVAMET 200 ™| Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound | Prolotherapy | Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) | NeuroKinetic Therapy™ | Active Release Technique (ART®)
We are aligned with doctors that practice regenerative sports medicine. An initial appointment is approximately 1 hour and follow-ups are typically 30 min. The office visits educate you about your injury and create a plan to help you return to your activities. The physicians look at your individual needs and goals whether you are a weekend warrior, gardener, elite athlete, fighter, surfer, dancer or just looking to find pain relief. They will work with you to make sure your treatment is in line with your values.
Find out what the San Diego Padres, the Navy Seals and Thrive Wellness have in common. Applied by a therapist, the HIVAMET 200™ machine administers a gentle and deep-acting effect on all tissue components: skin, connective tissue, muscles, blood and lymph vessels. This non-invasive modality will restore and regenerate tissue in the following circumstances:
- pre and post operative therapy
- relaxing of muscle spasms
- reducing pain
- promoting joint mobility
- reducing swelling in acute injuries and lymphedema
- reducing inflammation
- promoting wound healing
Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) helps diagnose injuries to muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. Some doctors have used musculoskeletal ultrasound throughout their sports medicine fellowship for diagnosis of injuries and ultrasound guided injections. The MSKUS often has more diagnostic benefits over MRI, X-rays, and other diagnostic machines.
Prolotherapy is used to treat ligaments, tendons, and joints with a holistic point of view. Acute and chronic injuries, including arthritis of the knee, low back and neck pain, shoulder, and ankle injuries can be treated with prolotherapy. The procedure is an injection of dextrose (sugar water) into a specific area causing an inflammation response; thus, increasing joint regeneration and reducing pain. Prolotherapy is both safe and non-toxic.
Your blood is medicine. PRP, or “platelet rich plasma,” which is a component of your blood is a revolutionary new treatment for chronic sports and musculoskeletal injuries that is revolutionizing the sports medicine and orthopedic community.
Many physicians have been practicing PRP therapy since their sports medicine fellowship. Their years of musculoskeletal ultrasound have lead to the logical progression of using PRP therapy to help stimulate healing and tissue repair.
NKT treats the cause of dysfunction, not the symptoms. NeuroKinetic Therapy’s™ corrective movement system addresses dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain causing the pain. NKT ™ system is called the missing link for treatment protocols because muscle(s) can be “off line” as a protective mechanism and pain and dysfunctional may continue despite your best efforts at rehab.
Some practitioners are full body certified in Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Spine and Nerve Entrapments. ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.
